Grand Master Celebrates This Month
02 Mar 2021

March is a very special month for Grand Master Michael Ajay.

March 9th marks his 40th year as the full-time business we know as Ajay’s Karate.  He was a young man of only 25 when he opened his first studio on Sutterville Road in Sacramento near Sacramento City College.  He opened his school on a wing and a prayer, being one of the first Taekwondo schools in the area.  Initially, the response was not so great.  But soon his name and reputation grew and he attracted many students.  Known for his fierce fighting skills and exquisite technique, he became a national champion and a world champion.  Now he utilizes all of that expertise teaching his students.  Over the years he has trained thousands of students, now some are second-generation students! Many students became national champions, and some have gone on to open their own studios.

March 31st marks his 55th year of training in martial arts.  Not many people can say they’ve stuck with anything for 55 years let alone training and practicing in a particular art form.  Starting at the age of 10 he began his long-spanning and prestigious career in martial arts in a combination Tang Soo Do and Taekwondo over the years.

To this day, Grand Master Michael Ajay is passionate about the two styles he trained in and passionate about teaching and passing on all he has garnered throughout his career.
