Indomitable Spirit and Perseverance in Real Life

“What is indomitable spirit in Taekwondo?

The indomitable spirit has the courage and confidence to try again and not be subdued or overcome in the face of fear or failure. The indomitable spirit perseveres. Sometimes this can be a challenge; training in Tae Kwon Do can help to develop it.” *

So much is happening in our world right now, many things that we cannot control.  Being Tae Kwon Do instructors and business owners, and having been involved for so many years in martial arts, I thought it would be a good topic to talk about how indomitable spirit and perseverance (two Tenets of Tae Kwon Do) have carried over into real life, not just in the studio.

Due to the Coronavirus, we had to move our classes outdoors.  Due to extreme heat and poor air quality, we sometimes have to cancel our outdoor classes.  Not one to give in to self-pity I have had to turn to my Tae Kwon Do Spirit and the tenets to stay strong and get through these uncertain times.

Indomitable spirit in this case means having the courage and confidence to keep trying despite circumstances beyond our control.  It means being strong enough to overcome the fear of failure – business failure, as well as failing our members.  Grand Master Ajay and I are fighters.  We are known for our competitions, our winning records, and never quit attitude when facing adversaries.  That spirit carries over to our school as well.  We will not be defeated; we will not fail.  Failure is not an option.

Perseverance means doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.  I feel we already have a proven record of success with 39 years as a fulltime business, but in 2020 we have definitely faced difficulty, yet we keep moving forward.

Grand Master and I live the tenets of Tae Kwon Do in our personal lives as well as in business.  We not only talk the talk, but we walk the walk.  We want to show our students what it means to persevere.  We want to show everyone what the Tae Kwon Do spirit looks like.

We are here.  We are open, even if it means training in the park and having to humbly bow to elements beyond our control from time to time.  But Ajay’s Karate is alive and well, and healthy, and striving every day to give the best of our abilities.  Our members can attest to this.  We have online YouTube curriculum and offer Zoom classes when we cannot meet in the park.  Why not join us, and see for yourself?

Call us today to get started (916) 686-3478.  We have a two week introductory special to see why we have been so successful all these years.

Our studio, Ajay’s Karate, is a traditional martial arts school teaching the very best in technique along with values that our students will carry with them throughout their lifetime.  We are family-owned, serving the Sacramento and Elk Grove areas since 1980.
