WHAT IS PHYSICAL FITNESS?

Physical Fitness is having good HEALTH and STRENGTH achieved through EXERCISE. It is striving to be in good shape and taking good care of our bodies. The more physically fit we are, the more ATHLETIC ABILITY we have. Taking care of our bodies and making sure we stay physically fit is not only important in MARTIAL ARTS but also important for our overall health.

  2. Why is physical fitness important?
  3. How do you stay physically fit?
  4. Why is physical fitness important for our health?

WHY IS PHYSICAL FITNESS IMPORTANT?

Staying physically fit is very important. Physical fitness helps us stay healthy and improve our athletic ability, but it also helps us stay MENTALLY FIT. When we take care of our bodies, we also take care of our minds. Regular exercise can help lower STRESS and keep us happy.

  2. How can physical fitness help our health?
  3. How does physical fitness help our mind as well?
  4. How does physical fitness help our athletic ability?

HOW CAN WE STAY PHYSICALLY FIT?

There are many ways to stay physically fit. We can WORK OUT, run, walk, dance or do martial arts. We get a great workout in our class. The key to staying physically fit is to STAY ACTIVE and stay CONSISTENT. We must COMMIT to staying in shape and making it an everyday part of our lives. It is also important to EAT WELL and live a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.

  3. Why is eating right also part of being physically fit?
  4. What does it mean to live a healthy lifestyle?

PHYSICAL FITNESS CAN HELP US ACHIEVE OUR GOALS.

Most of us in our class have a goal in martial arts. For some it’s a BLACK BELT, for others it’s SELF-DEFENSE or to get in shape. Physical fitness plays a key role in all of these GOALS. We must take care of our bodies for them to perform properly and help us reach our goals, not just in martial arts, but also in our daily lives. Being physically fit helps us to feel good about ourselves and to keep pushing forward to reach our goals. Physical fitness is a huge part of being SUCCESSFUL in many things.

  2. Why does physical fitness help us feel good about ourselves?
  3. How can poor physical fitness keep us from reaching a goal?

PHYSICAL FITNESS IS HAVING GOOD HEALTH AND STRENGTH ACHIEVED THROUGH EXERCISE. IT IS STRIVING TO BE IN GOOD SHAPE AND TAKING GOOD CARE OF OUR BODIES. WHEN WE ARE PHYSICALLY FIT, OUR ATHLETIC ABILITIES ARE STRONGER. IT IS IMPORTANT TO STAY PHYSICALLY FIT FOR OUR HEALTH AS WELL AS FOR ACHIEVING OUR GOALS IN MARTIAL ARTS
This month we are learning about physical fitness and why it is so important. Physical Fitness is having good health and strength achieved through exercise. We want our students to understand what physical fitness is, and why it’s important.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
• Lead by example. Take good care of your health and your body. Stay active and exercise regularly.
• Include your kids in your exercise. Workout with them, go for walks or play sports at home.
• Talk to your kids about physical fitness and why it is important.
• Have a discussion with your child about their goals in martial arts then explain how being physically fit will help them achieve those goals.
• Encourage your kids to stay active and keep track of their physical fitness.
