WHAT IS SELF-ASSURANCE?

Self-assurance is having CONFIDENCE in your own ABILITIES or CHARACTER. It is being confident in what we say and do and not doubting ourselves.

Ask Your Students:

  1. What does self-assurance mean to you?
  2. Do you have self-assurance?
  3. How can we demonstrate self-assurance?
  4. How can self-assurance open doors for us?

WHY IS SELF-ASSURANCE IMPORTANT?

When we have self-assurance we believe in ourselves and are not afraid to try new things. We have the confidence to make decisions. Self-assurance helps lead to success and gives others confidence in us.

Ask Your Students:

  1. Why is self-assurance important?
  2. How does it help us succeed?
  3. Why do we try new things when we have self-assurance?
  4. How does our own self-assurance give others confidence in us?

“SELF-CONFIDENCE IS THE FIRST REQUISITE TO GREAT UNDERTAKINGS.” – SAMUEL JOHNSON –

HOW CAN YOU IMPROVE YOUR SELF-ASSURANCE?

There are many things we can do. We can create a list of things we are good at and share it with friends and family. We can take on a big task and work hard until it is completed. We can help another student who may be struggling in a certain subject at school.

Ask Your Students:

  1. Do you have self-assurance?
  2. What are some things you are good at?
  3. How can you improve your self-assurance?
  4. What can you do in our class to improve your self-assurance?

SELF-ASSURANCE LEADS TO SUCCESS

When we have self-assurance others can see it. They can see we are CONFIDENT in our abilities and ourselves. When we have self-assurance we know we can get the job done right. We work hard to prove ourselves and strive for success.

Ask Your Students:

  1. How does self-assurance make you successful?
  2. How can others see our self-assurance?
  3. Why do we work hard when we have self-assurance?
  4. How has self-assurance made you successful?

Dear parents and/or guardians…

SELF-ASSURANCE IS HAVING CONFIDENCE IN YOUR OWN ABILITIES OR CHARACTER. IT IS BEING CONFIDENT IN WHAT WE SAY AND DO AND NOT DOUBTING OURSELVES

SELF-ASSURANCE

This month we are learning about self-assurance and why it is such an important life skill. Self-assurance is having confidence in your own abilities or character. Self-assurance can open many doors for our children and is a big part of our class. We want our students to understand how self-assurance can help them succeed.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

  • Praise your child when they do well. It is important to let your child know you are proud of them. When they succeed at something, praise them and offer positive feedback.
  • Teach resiliency. Nobody is perfect and succeeds at everything every time. Let your child know there will be setbacks and failures but these failures do not define them. Teach your kid to learn from their mistakes and move forward.
  • Be a role model. You must love yourself before you can teach your child to appreciate themselves. Praise yourself when you do well. Let your child know of your success and the steps you took to get there.
  • Help your child set realistic goals. When they start a new sport of course they want to be the best. Help them set small goals they can achieve before setting a huge goal that may be unrealistic.
