A PERSON IS A PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR, OF A LARGER AWARENESS.” – DEEPAK CHOPRA –

WHAT IS AWARENESS?

Awareness is having knowledge of a situation or fact. When you are aware, you know and understand why something is happening. You should always be aware of yourself and your surroundings so you know what is going on around you. To practice being aware, you can try memorizing things around you at school and at home or going to a new place and describing it to your parents. It is very important to always be aware.

Ask Your Students:

  1. Why is it important to be aware?
  2. What are some ways to make sure you’re staying aware?
  3. How would you describe being aware?
  4. What are something you are aware of?

WE MUST ALWAYS BE AWARE OF OUR SURROUNDINGS.

It is very important to be aware of our surroundings. To do this we must make OBSERVATIONS of things around us like taking MENTAL NOTES of people and objects we see. Being aware of our surroundings helps to keep us SAFE and give us a heads-up if danger could be present.

Ask Your Students:

  1. How do you stay aware of your surroundings?
  2. Why is it important to be aware of things around you?
  3. Do you practice being aware?
  4. How can you get better at taking mental notes of things you see around you?

THE FIRST STEP TOWARD CHANGE IS AWARENESS. THE SECOND STEP IS ACCEPTANCE.” – NATHANIEL BRANDEN –

WE MUST ALSO BE SELF-AWARE.

When we are self-aware, we realize our own character, feelings, motives, and desires. We are aware of our actions and take note if they will help or hinder us from reaching our goals. When we are self-aware, it is easier for us to monitor our actions and behaviors and make sure we are moving in a positive direction. Being self-aware also includes being conscious of the way we treat others and making sure we make a positive impact on our community.

Ask Your Students:

  1. Are you self-aware?
  2. Why is it important to be self-aware?
  3. Why would you encourage others to be self-aware?
  4. How does self-awareness help you?

AWARENESS WITHOUT ACTION IS WORTHLESS.” – PHIL MCGRAW –

Dear parents and/or guardians…

This month we are learning about awareness and why it is so important to be aware. We want to teach our students how crucial it is for them to be aware of themselves and their surroundings. By teaching this, we hope our students will have a better understanding of what is happening around them and why.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

  • Talk to your kids about the of being aware. Make sure they understand the concept and work to develop the skill.
  • Give your kids tips for using their best judgement and avoid surrounding themselves with questionable people.
  • Practice teaching your kids to be observant and aware of their surroundings by playing memory games outside and in the car.
  • Take your kids to volunteer in new communities so they interact with people outside their neighborhood.
  • Help develop memory skills by playing card games like Memory
